Absences and Cancellations

If you miss your regularly scheduled lesson for any reason (illness, vacation, etc.), you will receive 1 make up token to reschedule 1 lesson(s) per month. You may also schedule a makeup for any lessons canceled by Stewie the Duck Swim School due to weather, staffing, or pool issue.

  • Rescheduled lessons are scheduled through the front office or customer portal.
  • Absences may not be credited to the next month’s tuition.
  • We do not guarantee the same teacher, time, or student ratio for group lesson makeups.
  • Special makeup classes may be created as needed.

If you know in advance that your child will miss several lessons, or if your child will be out for an extended time due to illness or vacation, we recommend that you suspend your lessons. The remaining balance will be held on your Stewie the Duck Swim School account for 1 month. We will do our best to accommodate you; however, some instructors and certain hours are difficult to get.

You must cancel before next monthly bill date.

If the school must close during regular business hours, you will receive an email. You can also check the website and social media for updates.

If it is raining or snowing at your home or office, please do not assume that it is doing the same at the pool. We do swim in inclement weather, but not if conditions are dangerous. We follow American Red Cross safety protocols. We cancel our lessons in 30-minute increments. We will do our best to contact you. If you have not heard from us, it is best to come. You can check for any weather updates on our Facebook page and/or call our office at 203-750-6100. If you choose not to come to your lesson because of bad weather, please contact us and you will receive a makeup token.
