Stewie The Duck Swim School lessons are based on the American Red Cross learn to swim program, and are designed with SAFETY as our #1 priority! Our mission is to help children become safer, in and around the water, and to teach them to be confident and comfortable swimmers. Our lesson curriculum is designed to enable children, six months and up, to progress from water acclimation to pre-swim team levels. EVERY child will get plenty of individual attention, care and instruction in a SAFE fun filled environment. WOW!!

Ducklings 1
Ages: 6-18 Months
- Happy participation
- Blow bubbles
- Face wet
- Kicking and pulling and glides
- Holding edge of pool
- Climbing in and out of pool
- Floating on Back
Exit Goals: 18 months, happy participation, comfortable getting face wet, and can hold edge of pool.
Ducklings 2
Ages: 18 months – 3 years
- Happy participation
- Blow bubbles
- Face wet
- Kicking and pulling with barbell
- Glides
- Front and back floats
- Holding edge of pool
- Getting in and out of pool safely
- Sitting criss cross of pool and wait safely for turn
- Introduce Swim-float-swim
Exit Goals: Must be comfortable getting face wet, glide from instructor, be on back and able to use barbell to kick and pull.
Also, must be able to climb in and out of pool safely and sit cris cross outside the pool and wait for their turn.
Duckies Level 1
Ages: 3-4 years old | 5-7 years old | 8+ years old
- Sitting criss cross applesauce – Wait turn
- Bubbles and face wet
- 5 Bobs
- Front and back floats
- Front and back glides
- Kick and pull with and without barbell
- Swim 15ft with face in the water
- Jump in and swim back to wall with minimal assistance
- Jump in and roll on back with minimal assistance
Exit Goals: Swim 15ft with face in water unassisted. Front and back floats with minimal assistance. Swim-float-swim 15ft assisted.
Also able to jump in and swim to wall and rollover onto back with minimal assistance.
Duckies Level 2
Ages: 3-4 years old | 5-7 years old | 8+ years old
- 10 Bobs
- Streamline glides
- Back glides
- Kicking on back
- Swim-float-swim
- Freestyle – Introduce side breaths
- Introduce elementary backstroke
- Introduce treading water
Exit Goals: Swim comfortably and confidently 25 feet face in (introducing side breaths) and proper body alignment. Swim-float-swim, front and back floats, glides (back and front) independently.
Ducks Level 3
Ages: 3-4 years old | 5-7 years old | 8+ years old
- Underwater streamline glides with kids
- Freestyle-confidently and comfortably with proper rotary breathing for 25 ft
- Backstroke – with proper body alignment 25 ft
- Elementary backstroke 25 ft
- Introduce breaststroke kick
- Trending water – 30 seconds
Exit Goals: Swim comfortably and confidently with proper alignment: Freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke. Underwater streamline glide for 15 ft and tread water for 30 seconds.
Ducks Level 4
- Freestyle and backstroke – building endurance and distance
- Breaststroke with arms
- Butterfly kick – streamline arms
- Open turns
- Tread water 1 minute
Exit Goals: Breaststroke with arms, butterfly kick with streamline arms, open turns for the 3 strokes, tread water for 1 minute.
Super Ducks (Level 5) Pre-Swim Team
- Freestyle and backstroke – DISTANCE
- Flip turns – for all strokes that require flip turn
- Breaststroke – proper timing
- Butterfly with arms and rhythm
- Tread water 1-2 minutes
- Mastery of the four competitive strokes
- Building endurance
Exit Goals: Mastery of all four competitive strokes. Freestyle and backstroke no signs of fatigue, breaststroke proper timing, butterfly proper arms-to-kick ratio, flip turn comfortably, tread water 1-2 minutes.
Our program will incorporate skills to be safe in and around all bodies of water. All children under 3-years-old (or older children who are not potty trained), must wear a non-disposable swim diaper under their swimsuits. These diapers are available for purchase at our front desk.
